Prerequisite:
A student is required to have a passing grade in his/her most recent English class.

Purpose:
This course is designed to provide students with opportunities to enhance their public speaking skills.

Description:
This course focuses on the skills which are essential to public speaking. Students will write and present various speeches as well as listen to and interpret the effective speeches of others. Assignments might include but are not limited to impromptu, persuasive, or “how-to” speeches. Additional assignments include debates, interviews, and dramatic interpretations. 

Requirements:
Grades (many of which will be performance-based) will be assigned based on daily activities, homework, projects, quizzes, essays, and
tests. The final exam will be worth 10% of the student’s grade
