A student is required to have a passing grade in most recent English class.

Purpose:

This course is designed to offer instruction to those students who express an interest in news writing.

Description:

This course devotes time to the study of journalistic techniques and procedures and focuses on reporting. In learning about news writing, the students become acquainted with the purpose and structure of various types of news stories and through news writing assignments for the Blue and White Star, they learn the skills necessary for sound journalistic writing.

Requirements:

Grades will be assigned based on completion of writing assignments, interviews, and various shared responsibilities by staff members.
