Purpose:
This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of child development from birth to age six. Students will be given the opportunity to see how the study of child development can improve their ability to effectively work with small children.

Description:
This class will investigate and study how children learn through their environment physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally. Students who are interested in pursuing a career in early childhood education or elementary education are encouraged to take this course so that they may apply what they have learned to those fields of study.

Requirements:
Grades will be assigned based on class participation, group work, quizzes, chapter tests and a project.
