Prerequisites:
Honors Enrollment based on three criteria: stand-alone social studies assessment, teacher recommendation, and classroom performance.

Purpose:
This course is designed to provide a more challenging version of U.S. History I with a focus on historical events and people in the United States 1840-1950.

Description:
This course is a more rigorous version of early American history which examines the United States during the formation of the union and the Civil War through World War II. This course is designed to provide a deep understanding of the Presidential administrations and the major events from 1840-1950. The final unit will focus on the Constitution.

Requirements:
Grades will be assigned based on daily activities, homework, quizzes, oral presentations, group work, and tests. The final exam will be worth 10% of the student’s grade.
