Purpose:
This course is designed to focus on the concept of Sociology as a social science, including the idea of social structure, social institutions and inequality.

Description:
This course offers a study of human relationships in society. It focuses upon the use of a sociological point of view to examine culture, social structure, the individual in society, social institutions and social inequality. The changing social world and its implications are presented and analyzed.

Requirements:
Grades will be based on homework, chapter tests, class participation, group work, small group projects and research. The final exam will be worth 10% of the student’s grade.
