This course is designed to provide students with the basic knowledge of woodworking. This will be reinforced by hands on project construction experience.

This course is designed as an entry level course to provide students with a fundamental knowledge and experience in woodworking. Major emphasis is placed on measurement and layout; calculating board feet; shop and machine safety; project planning; adhesives; abrasives; wood stains and finishes. Students will be exposed to CNC (computer numerical controlled) router. Students will construct various projects.

Grades will be assigned based on quizzes, and the completion of at least one individual project. Students may be required to provide the cost of the individual project.
