#341 SENIOR SCIENCE
Grades: 11-12 Elective Year Long Credit: 1
This course is designed to provide a senior high physical science course in which basic concepts of matter, its composition and interactions with other matter, and the energy associated with matter will be presented. This course includes basic concepts regularly included within Chemistry and Physics.
Students study basic chemistry for the first semester and physics for the second semester. There is also an emphasis on alternative energy sources and the effects on the environment. Students will complete several research projects. This course may include support for students to complete the Project Based Assessment (PBA) as required for graduation by the PA Department of Education.
Grades may be assigned based on daily work, homework, research projects, oral presentations, labs, quizzes and tests. The final exam will be worth 10% of the student’s grade.
