This course is designed to give students a firm foundation in algebraic concepts in order to ensure success in future mathematics courses.

This course is the study of patterns and relationships. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, operations with real numbers,solving linear equations and inequalities, polynomials, exponents and radicals, and graphing functions. Additional concepts include; geometry, data analysis, probability, and statistics. Problem solving opportunities will be emphasized throughout the course.

Students are evaluated using tests, quizzes, homework, projects, scientific and graphics calculator activities, exploration activities, and a final exam worth 10% of the final grade. Students are required to take the Algebra I Keystone exam.
