Purpose:
This course is designed to take an in depth look at nutrition and what is essential for an individual to remain healthy in the future.

Description:
Students will be provided with an understanding of what’s in the foods they eat and what each nutrient provides for the body. This class will include a look at how nutritional needs change throughout the lifespan as well as the impact that exercise and food have on your metabolism. An examination of fads and trends in current diets will occur to determine pros and cons of each. Current Issues and Nutritional disorders will also be investigated.

Requirements:
Grades are assigned based on quizzes, tests, projects, homework and class work.
