Prerequisites:
Graphics Art I

Purpose:
This course is designed as an advanced art studio class that utilizes both digital tools and traditional art-making tools as the medium for artistic expression, building on the techniques and skills learned in Graphic Arts I.

Description:
Students will learn and utilize the Adobe Photoshop CS6 program to design and create art on the computer. Students will also utilize a digital camera, Internet, scanner and a laser color printer. Hands on traditional art can also be scanned into the computer and manipulated. Traditional art-making tools such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramic tools will be used as well in exploration of a graphic design. Advanced techniques in Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fireworks as well as advanced studies in Microsoft programs will be explored in the digital art studio and more advanced techniques in hand-creating art such as billboard design, font design, logo design, and conceptual installation work will be touched upon.

Requirements:
Students will be required to create original art through sources such as photographs, self-made art, and found images. Grades will be assigned based on technical ability, planning, progress, effort, and class participation, as well as conceptual design.
