Purpose:

This course is designed to increase the student’s understanding of today’s music by studying music from the past.
Description: This course will teach the students basic music history beginning with the Renaissance period through the Modern period.

Requirements:

Students are required to complete a number of assignments relating to the material covered in class as well as prepare one project highlighting a composer of their choice.
